P. Chen et al., THERMODYNAMIC PROPERTY AND RECORDING MECHANISM OF INDOLENINE CYANINE DYE FOR OPTICAL MEMORY MEDIUM, Journal of information recording, 23(6), 1997, pp. 585-592
The indotricarbocyanine iodide, whose spectroscopic property is in cor
respondence with diode laser wavelength range, has been chosen for stu
dying its recording mechanism. Its thermodynamic property has been mea
sured by DSC. Meanwhile, correlation between thermodynamic property an
d temperature, recording potential and the spectra before and after he
ating have also been investigated. Results show that information-recor
ded region has much higher reflectivity than non-recorded one. And it
is suggested that information recording is mainly due to the thermal e
ffect caused by laser irradiation.
