Aivalykus dominicanus, n, sp., is described from two male specimens pr
eserved in Dominican amber, and represents the first described species
of the genus from the Neotropics. The specimens are 15-45 million yea

r extant Aivalykus species by a more elongated first abdominal tergite
and differences in fore wing venation.
