Abstract
The observation that [Tc-99m]technetium pertechnetate is taken up by a n epoxy adhesive, lead to investigations of the uptake process. Parame ters such as the concentration and soaking time in Tc-99m, and the cur ing and mixing time of the epoxy adhesive were correlated with uptake. The effects of a blocking agent, polymer cements used for fixing pros thesis and glues used for joining PVC drainage pipes were also investi gated. The uptake process appears to be primarily due to polar surface bonding, although other mechanisms cannot be ruled out.
