Sc. Guo et al., A NUMERICAL-ANALYSIS OF REVERSED-FIELD PINCH EQUILIBRIUM WITH ENERGY-TRANSPORT AND DYNAMO ELECTRIC-FIELD, Nuclear fusion, 37(8), 1997, pp. 1147-1160
Reversed field pinch equilibria have been numerically studied on the b
asis of a set of stationary dissipative MHD equations, where mass, mom
entum and energy conservation, Ohm's law and perpendicular heat transp
ort are included. Moreover, an effective dynamo electric held epsilon
is taken into account. The equilibrium magnetic held B, plasma tempera
ture T and pressure p, as well as some associated fields are determine
d consistently by this system. Two types of dynamo model epsilon = alp
ha.B, with alpha either a scalar (isotropic-alpha model) or a tensor (
symmetric hyperbolic tensor-alpha model), have been used and are discu
ssed. The results are found to be in good agreement with the experimen
tal measurements.
