Abstract
The results of investigations into the held of chemical sensors for de termining heavy-metal ions based on chalcogenide glasses and some anal ytical applications are considered. Electrochemical characteristics of sensors and information on their industrial, environmental, and labor atory use are presented. Possible promising lines of developments in t his area, in particular, the technique of analyzing multicomponent med ia using multisensor systems (''electronic tongue''), are suggested.
