Sh. Tantawi, EFFECT OF DIFFERENT TYPES OF CONCRETE POLYMER ADMIXTURES ON PHYSICOCHEMICAL AND MECHANICAL-PROPERTIES OF CEMENT PASTES, Polymer-plastics technology and engineering, 36(6), 1997, pp. 863-872
Four concrete admixtures were used to modify the physicochemical and m
echanical properties of the hardened portland cement pastes. These adm
ixtures include a plasticizer, a superplasticizer, a retarder, and a p
lasticizer retarder. The effect of the addition of each admixture on t
he physicomechanical properties of the hardened cement pastes was stud
ied. The results of differential thermal analysis, hydration kinetics,
bulk density, and mineralogical constitutions were discussed and rela
ted as much as possible to the developed compressive strength of the h
ardened pastes.
