The results of numerical simulation of the protective properties of la
yered and porous shields that are used to reduce peak stresses and to
prevent failure of the walls of an explosion chamber under detonation
loading are presented. rt is shown that porous shields have stronger p
rotective properties than layered shields of the same thickness.
