G. Hartofilakidis, SURVIVAL OF THE CHARNLEY LOW-FRICTION ARTHROPLASTY - A 12-24-YEAR FOLLOW-UP OF 276 CASES, Acta orthopaedica Scandinavica, 68, 1997, pp. 27-29
The long-term results (12-24 years) of Charnley low-friction arthropla
sty performed in 113 hips in 93 patients with a mean age of 45 years,
were compared to those achieved in 163 hips in 144 patients with a mea
n age of 66 years treated with the same procedure. Survivorship analys
is showed a 73% prosthesis survival after 17 years in the younger age
group and an 86% in the older age group.
