Abstract
Twenty-three new phosphonic ester derivatives of stilbene exhibiting s tructural analogies with fostedil are described. Examination of calciu m antagonism showed that this activity could not be increased by intro ducing electron-withdrawing, electron-releasing or lipophilic substitu ents. Only compounds containing fluorine at the 2 or 4 positions exhib ited similar activity to the model.
