Abstract
Fourteen gamma-thiazolidine-1,3-dithiolanes were prepared and tested a s radioprotective agents. The combination within a single molecule of thiazolidine and dithiolane moieties, both of which are known for thei r radioprotective properties, was achieved for the first time. Several molecules show significant radioprotective activity: immediate 4l; de layed 4b, 4f, 4h; or immediate and prolonged 4a.
