Abstract
Consideration is given to the conditions under which the stability of two polynomials implies that all polynomials lying ''between'' them ar e stable. A new characteristic of convex directions in terms of behavi or of the roots of a one-parameter system of polynomials is given. The a notion of convex directions of a fixed polynomial is introduced and a graphic test for this property is described.
