Although this fungus ha s a world-wide distribution, most reports of the occurrence of Trichop hyton tonsurans infections originate from the USA, Latin America and s ome European countries. A 31-year-old African woman, formerly a reside nt of Zaire, with tinea corporis caused by Trichophyton tonsurans infe ction is described here.
