M. Kendig et al., ROLE OF CORROSION INHIBITING PIGMENTS ON THE ELECTROCHEMICOL KINETICSOF A COPPER-CONTAINING ALUMINUM-ALLOY, Journal of the Electrochemical Society, 144(11), 1997, pp. 3721-3727
The electrochemical polarization behavior of the copper-containing Al
2024-T3 alloy in deaerated 0.01 M NaCl saturated with a number of soli
d inhibitors demonstrates that one of the compounds examined, barium m
etaborate, exhibits an inhibiting power in excess of that of zinc chro
mate. Electrochemical polarization of a synthetic theta-phase CuAl2 in
termetallic in aerated 0.01 M NaCl with and without the presence of th
e barium metaborate and zinc chromate inhibitors has also been examine
