Abstract
This paper presents new models for representation of different load ty pes in steady-state voltage stability studies. The models are derived from the available measured characteristics of the power system loads. Special attention is paid to the induction motor load, with different mechanical loading as well as for special large loads such as aluminu m smelter plants and are furnaces loads. Comparisons between results f rom the known models and the developed models are made and the necessi ty for using these developed models are put forward. It is also proved that erroneous results will be obtained using known available models of these loads. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science S.A.
