Abstract
A kinetic study of MoO3-Sb2O4 catalysts, showed that conversion of met hanol increased significantly as MoO3 content was increased. A relatio nship was found between the ESR signal's intensity and the catalysts' yield for formaldehyde. FTIR confirmed the appearance of cis-dioxo MoO +2 sites, which explains these high yields.
