Abstract
The metabolites produced by the fungus Phialophora alba, isolated from
healthy aspen, have been examined. 6,8-Dihydroxy-1-methoxy-3-methylan
thraquinone [1] and its 5-chloro- and 7-chloro derivatives 2 and 3 wer
e obtained, along with the dihydro derivative 4 of the 5-chloro compou
nd. Compounds 2 and 4 are new, and 1 has not been reported previously
as a natural product.
