Abstract
According to recent molecular data, the Anomochloeae, Streptochaeteae, and Phareae represent the most basal lineages within the grass family . Two subfamilies, the Anomochlooideae and the Pharoideae, are resurre cted and described here to accommodate these three tribes. The name Ph aroideae is validated and amended from its previous circumscription.
