Abstract
The A <-- X electronic transition of CF3O was observed in a supersonic jet using laser-induced fluorescence. Rotational analysis of the high -resolution spectrum of the origin band is consistent with CF3O having C3v symmetry in both its ground and excited electronic states. The lo west level is best described as 2E3/2 with residual unquenched electro nic angular momentum, leading to a significant spin-orbit splitting.
