Abstract
The trifluoromethanethiolate anion may be generated in situ by the rea ction of thiophosgene with potassium fluoride in acetonitrile. This sy stem is used to prepare trifluoromethyl aryl sulfides from activated f luoro-and chloroaromatic substrates via nucleophilic substitution. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science S.A.
