Abstract
National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) administrators and staff ident ify critical research questions and select knowledgeable scientists. N IDA monographs incorporate the papers produced by those scientists. Th e monographs are a rich source of ideas, concepts and advice on drug u se research. This paper introduces a special journal issue that includ es summaries of papers from monographs on etiology and prevention rese arch.
