B. Gambke et al., MULTICENTER EVALUATION OF THE URINE ANALYZER MIDITRON(R) JUNIOR, Scandinavian journal of clinical & laboratory investigation, 57(7), 1997, pp. 605-611
A multicentre evaluation of the urine analyser Miditron(R) Junior was
performed at four laboratories. The Miditron(R) Junior analyser provid
es semi-quantitative results for erythrocytes, bilirubin, urobilinogen
, ketone bodies, glucose, protein, nitrite, leukocytes, pH and relativ
e density. Accuracy of the Miditron(R) Junior analyser was evaluated b
y comparison to quantitative analytical chemistry methods (glucose, to
tal protein), physical methods (pH, relative density), and microscopic
methods (erythrocytes, leukocytes). Agreement was defined as identica
l or neighbouring concentration block. The level of agreement found wi
th chemical, physical or microscopic methods for the six analytes test
ed varied from 79 to 99%. The within-run precision was determined as r
epeatability by using 31 native urines. The results of repeated measur
ements (n=10) fell in the same concentration block, or in case of bord
erline concentration were spaced between two adjacent colour blocks. D
ay-to-day precision covering a minimum of 20 days using commercially a
vailable control solutions yielded results within +/-one colour block
from the mean.
