A. Ray et Sn. Gupta, CONSTRUCTION OF TEMPLATE LIGAND SITES IN POLYMERIC MATRICES WITH DITHIZONE, Journal of polymer science. Part A, Polymer chemistry, 35(17), 1997, pp. 3729-3734
Metal ion specific template ligand sites were developed by physically
immobilizing dithizone molecules oriented according to a particular co
mplex geometry in various polymeric films. Four polymeric systems, pol
ystyrene, poly(methyl methacrylate), poly(vinyl chloride), and polycar
bonate, were used for making template sites for Cu2+, Ni2+, Zn2+, and
Co2+ ions. A high degree of specificity could be achieved independent
of stability constants, though about half of the ligand sites were una
vailable to the metal ions. (C) 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
