Abstract
It is demonstrated that when the deconvoluted image indicates a known structure type, the crystal structure determination can be carried out by combining image deconvolution and image simulation. The crystal st ructure of K4Nb17O45 was determined by this method. The image deconvol ution was performed for six images of different defocus values by usin g the direct method. Four of them were successfully transformed into t he structure image, while other two deconvoluted images are distorted. A tungsten bronze type structure model is proposed based on the struc ture image. All of the six experimental images fit the simulated ones, respectively. The success and failure of image deconvolution are disc ussed.
