Abstract
Electric-field poling of silica glass provides the prospect of efficie nt second-order nonlinear interactions in optical fibers. Recent advan ces in quasi-phase-matched second-harmonic generation in electric-fiel d poled silica fibers are reviewed. (C) 1997 Optical Society of Americ a.
