Budd-Chiari syndrome (BCS) describes a variety of clinical conditions
that result in outflow obstruction of hepatic venous return to the rig
ht heart, ultimately leading to liver failure and death if left untrea
ted. The authors present successful management to 24 months of a patie
nt with BCS by radiologic interventional techniques that included perc
utaneous transluminal angioplasty and placement of metallic stents.
