Abstract
We discuss the monochromatic solutions of a semiconductor laser and th eir stability. The interaction between light and the semiconductor is modeled with a simple ''two-level'' model and an improved (semiconduct or) version. The semiconductor physics is blended into a dynamical mod el including the spatial dependence of the variables. The dynamics of these models are discussed in this context.
