STUDIES ON THE SUSCEPTIBILITY TO VERTICILLIUM-DAHLIAE KLEB VAR LONGISPORUM STARK OF 6 RELATED BRASSICA SPECIES

The Brassica species from Rapid Cycling Brassica Populations, B. campe stris, B. nigra, B. oleracea, B. juncea, B. napus and B. carinata were tested for their susceptibility against Verticillium dahliae var. lon gisporum. Severe wilt occurred in B. campestris, B. nigra and B. napus . Most of the plants died before harvest. Although B. juncea showed le ss severe symptoms, yield losses were considerably high. The most resi stant species showing almost no yield losses were B. carinata and B. o leracea.
