Abstract
We present a 78-year-old woman with clinical acute hypopituitarism in whom pathologic findings showed lymphocytic hypophysitis and retroperi toneal fibrosis. Lymphocytic hypophysitis should be included in the di fferential diagnosis of hypopituitarism at any age. The association wi th idiopathic retroperitoneal fibrosis suggest an autoimmune origin fo r this entity.
