INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES AND TECHNOLOGY COMMERCIALIZATION - THE RESEARCH AGENDA

This paper deals with two interrelated issues: technology commercializ ation and information technologies, The two are intertwined by the fac t that 1) information technologies are a major contributor to new inno vations that are commercialized and 2) information technologies can be used to facilitate the commercialization of all technologies. This pa per explores the research questions that arise from these two issues a nd recommends a set of research questions that need to be answered by researchers, It also introduces the five papers that make up this spec ial issue on information technologies and technology commercialization .
