Abstract
Single human trigeminal ganglia were studied for DNA sequences of vari
cella tester virus immediate early gene 63 by PCR. Out of 24 trigemina
l ganglia five were tested positive for VZV DNA by standard PCR (21 %)
, in six more VZV DNA was detectable using nested PCR (46 %).
