The survival of Salmonella anatum, pseudorabies virus (PRV), and porci
ne reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) in swine slurry
was studied at different temperature (4 degrees C, 25 degrees C, and
37 degrees C) and pH (4.0, 7.0, and 10.0) conditions. The longest surv
ival of S. anatum (56 days) was observed at 4 degrees C and pH 7.0. Th
e pseudorabies and the PRRS viruses also survived the longest at 4 deg
rees C and pH 7.0 but were inactivated within 8 and 14 days, respectiv
ely.
