Qualitative and quantitative results of a complete relativistic calcul
ation of the S-matrix transition amplitudes and first Born cross secti
ons for the Mott scattering of an electron in the presence of an ultra
intense single-mode laser field are compared in detail to a spinless a
nd a nonrelativistic treatment. The role of the fermion character of t
he electron leading to spin-orbit and spin-laser interactions is discu
ssed depending on the laser intensity and on the incoming electron kin
etic energy. The differences between radiative transfer spectra of the
electron energy in the relativistic and nonrelativistic regimes are a
ddressed.
