Abstract
The serum gamma-glutamyl transferase (GGT) activity correlated signifi cantly (P < 0.008) with the platelet count in 55 patients with thrombo cytosis. All patients were selected so as to have normal liver functio n tests (including serum GGT), This correlation was present in both ge nders and there was no significant correlation with the other liver fu nction tests, These findings are additional evidence that platelets ma y contribute to the total serum GGT activity.
