Abstract
The correlation between the gain-coefficient decrease over a relativel y long plasma medium for recombination Li-like Si ion soft-X-ray laser and the decrease of the average electron density in the spatial regio n of amplification, was found in the experiment and will be analysed i n this paper. The correlation is related to the original plasma nonuni formity imprinted by nonuniform line-focused laser irradiation.
