Abstract
The present paper discusses the possibility of using a coherent beat-m odulated source in a frequency domain approach to probe the characteri stics of a highly scattering medium with low absorption. The theoretic al approach is based on the diffusion approximation of the Boltzmann t ransport equation. Experimental results show that this approach is val id for sufficiently large source-detector distances.
