Calorific value, flammability and chemical composition during the seas
ons of the year for the different forest species which make Lip the wo
odland map of two zones, Devesa da Rogueira (continental high mountain
ous zone) and As Neves (humid atlantic zone), situated in Galicia (Spa
in), are reported The species characteristic of the zones are: Sorbus
aucuparia L., Acer pseudoplatanus L., Taxus baccata L., Fagus sylvatic
a L., Quercus robur L. and Castanea sativa Miller. in Devesa da Roguei
ra (Orense), and Alnus glutinosa (L.) Gaertner., Betula celtiberica L.
, Prunus avium (L.) L., Fraxinus excelsior L., Laurus nobilis L. and S
alix Atrocinera L., in As Neves (La Coruna). The calorific values were
measured by static bomb calorimetry and the flammability using a meth
od proposed by Valette. (C) 1997 Published by Elsevier Science Ltd.
