Abstract
Paramyosin from parasitic worms of the genus Schistosoma has shown pro mise as a vaccine target and it is one of the candidates selected by W HO for the development of a vaccine against schistosomiasis. Here we d iscuss the literature of the past decade and report on different recom binant paramyosin constructs we are using in our laboratory to develop a vaccine against the Asian schistosome, Schistosoma japonicum.
