VARIATION IN THE LENGTH-WEIGHT RELATIONSHIP OF 0+ CYPRINID FISHES IN THE RIVER GREAT OUSE, UK

For young-of-the-year Alburnus alburnus, Abramis brama, Blicca bjoerkn a, Gobio gobio, Leuciscus cephalus and L. leuciscus sampled in the Riv er Great Ouse there was a change in the length-weight relationship at 13 to 18 mm standard length from isometric, towards allometric growth. This coincided with the transition from stage L-6 to L-7. Variation i n coefficient b was greatest during stage L-2, coinciding with the swi tch to exogenous nutrition.
