Abstract
Three different types of ring C-seco limonoids, 3-O-acetylohchinolal, ohchinolide C and nimbolidin F, were isolated as insect antifeedants f rom Melia toosendan along with three known limonoids, salannin, azadir one and acetyltrichilenone, and a known protolimonoid, 20, 21, 22, 23- tetrahydro-23-oxotrichilenone. Their structures were elucidated by spe ctroscopic studies and their antifeedant properties were examined with the larvae of Spodoptera eridania. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
