Abstract
This study reports that Sm(OCH2R)(3)(5%)/RCH2OH/4A molecular sieves (R = CH3, CH3CH2) are efficient catalysts for the chemoselective Meerwei n-Ponndorf-Verley (MPV) type reduction of aldehydes in presence of ket onic carbonyl groups.
