Abstract
A local integral transformation method with the use of discrete variab les is shown to be useful for describing electromagnetic transients in a system consisting of a synchronous generator and a rectifier load. At the same time it is established that for synchronous machines with damping windings a local transformation can be performed only in combi nation with a local Fourier series method.
