In a piezoelectric frequency generator (PEFG), current oscillations ta
ke place by shock-wave movement through the piezoelectric working body
. It is shown that, under certain conditions, in the initial phase of
operation, in addition to diffusion, dissipative losses are also subst
antial. A significant share of these losses falls in the frequency ban
d 0.1-100 GHz, which far exceeds the PEFG carrier frequency. (C) 1997
