Abstract
The dire environmental situation in a number of cities and the urgent need to take steps to protect air and water resources require the deve lopment of new and efficient methods of pollution control. This proble m is also important in the processing of secondary ferrous metals. Ire addition to the scrap-breaking shops at metallurgical plants, about 1 500 other shops and subdivisions process scrap metal within the nation s of the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States).
