In available literature, different kinetics for tumor necrosis factor
alpha (TNF-alpha) release by peripheral blood mononuclear cells are re
ported upon stimulation with Cyptococcus neoformans. Results in this s
tudy showed that shaking cells gives faster kinetics of TNF-alpha rele
ase while large working volumes give lower TNF-alpha concentrations, D
ifferent experimental conditions thus influence kinetics of TNF-alpha
release by phagocytes.
