The catalytic properties of Cu/TiO2 have been studied for an NO-CO rea
ction as a function of the calcination temperature, Cu content, and or
igin of TiO2, It was found that Cu-TiO2 interaction species were respo
nsible for catalytic activity at low temperature (140 degrees C). It i
s suggested by means of XAFS and TPR that a rutile phase of TiO2 is ve
ry effective for the formation of the catalytically active Cu-TiO2 int
eraction species in an octahedral symmetry. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science
