Abstract
Multipliers are used in stability theory to reduce conservatism and ex ploit structural information about system components. For an important class of stability problems, which gives a resulting infinite-dimensi onal multiplier optimization, a corresponding dual problem is stated. The dual gives valuable information about the original problem, in par ticular error bounds for its finite-dimensional approximations. (C) 19 97 Elsevier Science Ltd.
