The structure of a plate crystal of ((PMe4+.TCNQF(4)(-.)). 1/2TCNQF(4)
) was analyzed and very similar to that of the corresponding NMe4+ sal
t. However, significant difference was recognized between the two crys
tals in the structures of TCNQF(4) and TCNQF(4)(-.) molecules, and esp
ecially in the contacts between the two TCNQF(4)(-.) molecules in dime
rization and between the TCNQF(4) and TCNQF(4)(-.) molecules. The chan
ge in both molecular structure and contact as above was also observed
at a lowering temperature. The magnitude in change was larger in the N
Me4+ salt than in the PMe4+ salt. However, the change exerted no speci
al influence on the elctrical conducting and magnetic properties.
