Two-photon resonance-enhanced four-wave mixing processes relevant to p
ump-probe difference absorption measurements with femtosecond pulses i
n linear aggregates were analyzed theoretically. Transitions to two-ex
citon bands were found to be contributing to coherent transients of th
e time-resolved spectra around the zero delay time. This part of the s
ignal provides in principle the possibility of direct measurement of t
he exciton delocalization length.
