Abstract
A modified technique of ventriculoscopy-aided implantation of ventricu lar shunts in children with hydrocephalus or intracranial cysts is pre sented. Al mm 0 degrees optic is introduced into the ventricle cathete r and the shunt is positioned under video control. Finally, the optic is removed and the catheter left in place. Four endoscopy-aided implan tations were performed with excellent visualization and without techni cal failure, the smallest patient weighted 680 gramms.
