Abstract
Energy-loss spectra for low-energy electrons incident on acetone conde nsed on a multilayer film of argon, and on a methanol film deposited o n a metallic substrate, are reported. In both cases, the formation of carbon monoxide has been detected. These results are directly related to those obtained in the liquid-phase gamma-radiolysis of the two comp ounds.
